For more than a year, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor has been at the heart of an unprecedented sex scandal. To date, 26 women, 16 of whom have filed a complaint, accuse the former star of the TF1 television news of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment. Legal actions to which the journalist responded by firmly denying all accusations and by filing a complaint at the same time for slanderous denunciation.
In its complaint, PPDA affirms that “the liberation of women’s speech unfortunately has its share of excesses and excesses”, considering that the latter would have been “rejected or ignored” thus generating a “bitterness that leads them[sant] to commit, out of belated revenge, the offense of slanderous denunciation”.

What reputation did he have?
Following this scandal, several journalists, familiar or not with the editorial staff of TF1, spoke. And if according to Catherine Lambret, former director of the IPJ journalism school in Paris, PPDA already had the reputation in the 1980s of “attacking girls”… For their part, several former employees of the first channel have indicated that they had never heard of such a reputation.
In the next “Complementary investigation” which will be broadcast on Thursday April 27, 2023, the journalists of France 2 have indeed gone to meet the former collaborators of PPDA. And to the question: “During your career, have you ever had a report from a woman who complained of inappropriate behavior by Patrick Poivre d’Arvor? »all answered in the negative. ” No never “, said Philippe Leber, former TF1 security coordinator.
“To me, you speak to me of a world that did not exist. Maybe I was blind… Hand on fire, I tell you the truth,” reacted on his side Michèle Cotta, ex-director of information of TF1.
Same story for Dominique Bromberger, former head of the foreign service of the editorial staff of TF1: “I can tell you that I didn’t know anything. And I didn’t mean to imply that everyone in the editorial staff knew about it because it wasn’t true.
