Applied, Paris Saint-Germain won against Dortmund on Tuesday for their entry into the Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain is reassured. Winner of Borussia Dortmund in its first Champions League match of the season (2-0), Tuesday September 19, the capital club found a performing midfielder, which it lacked during its defeat against Nice in Ligue 1 four days earlier (2-3). Manuel Ugarte, Vitinha and Warren Zaire-Emery ruled the midfield, while Achraf Hakimi scored a splendid goal, full of composure.
Gianluigi Donnarumma: 5/10
Criticized for his performances in recent weeks, the Italian did not have the opportunity to reassure this evening, as he had little to do. A trouble-free save on Donyell Malen’s shot (14th) and that’s it. He was still saved by his post on Jamie Bynoe-Gittens’ shot at the end of the match (79th). His kicking game can still be improved.
Achraf Hakimi: 7/10
The Moroccan delighted the Parc des Princes on the hour mark, putting Mats Hummels in the wind before scoring with a delicious outside kick (58th). He recalled the good memories of his former team with 119 balls touched (match record), 13 balls recovered and great offensive activity, with a blocked shot (23rd) and another unscrewed (28th).
Marquinhos: 6/10
A solid performance. The Parisian captain did not have much to do as PSG was not worried. A good header in front of Niclas Füllkrug (81st), while Borussia insisted on getting back into the match.
Milan Skriniar: 5/10
In difficulty against Nice, the Slovakian was not completely reassured this evening. Author of some good bursts at the opposing feet, he too often allowed the Borussia attackers to turn around.
Lucas Hernandez: 5.5/10
After a technically complicated start to the match, the full-back made up for it by being more aggressive in the duels and attempting a few throws. Author of a solo raid in the opposing defense, before being caught in the area (30th). Came out limping and replaced by Danilo (88th).
Manuel Ugarte: 6.5/10
His return to the starting eleven gave an impetus to the Parisian environment. The Uruguayan multiplied the spurts at the opponent’s feet and recovered eight balls. It is progressing in the use of leather and is becoming an interesting launching pad for Parisian attacks.
Vitinha: 6.5/10
He was the first to make Borussia tremble, with a shot on the post (22nd). Playing on the left side to allow Kylian Mbappé to realign himself, he was prominent in his projections with the ball. A well-felt assist for Hakimi in the middle of the penalty area (58th). Replaced by Lee Kang-in (80th).
Warren Zaire-Emery: 6/10
Europe discovers the 17-year-old midfielder, who was only celebrating his second start in C1. If he showed himself in some classy actions – a small bridge in the opposing area, an acceleration within the German defense – he was a slight notch below his two teammates in the middle. A good performance overall.
Ousmane Dembélé: 4/10
His lack of precision ended up tiring the Parisian supporters. It was after his difference on the right side that the first goal of the match came from a penalty (49th). But for the rest, the Blues winger often waited too long to serve his teammates and lost 30 balls in total, more than any other player on the pitch.
Kylian Mbappé: 5/10
A tone below what we are used to seeing. It is obviously from him that the opener comes from, with his penalty taken to the right of the goalkeeper, as usual (49th). After an energetic start to the match, he gradually faded away and failed to make a difference, as at the very end of the match with a lob that went wide of the goal (90th+1) and a shot wide (90th +4).
Randal Kolo-Muani: 5.5/10
An encouraging first tenure with PSG. He often proposed in depth without being served, showed a lot of generosity and an interesting understanding with Mbappé. His intelligent header for Hakimi could have led to a goal (23rd). Replaced by Gonçalo Ramos, who should have done better on Dembélé’s delivery (84th).
