Disturbing portrait of the harassment and violence that women experience online, Hail Bitch: Misogyny in the Digital Age will be presented on October 23 during the Alice nella Città festival, a parallel event to the Rome International Film Festival aimed at young people.

In a press release issued by La Ruelle Films, Guylaine Maroist underlines the particular political context in which his film will visit Italy: one of the leaders of the far-right coalition which took power in the country on September 26, Matteo Salvini, among those whose politician and main protagonist of the film, Laura Boldrini, denounces the harassment.

In Berlin, it’s the English version of the documentary, Backlash: Misogyny in the Digital Age, which will be in competition on October 21 at the Human Rights Film Festival.

“It’s really a trivialized subject, not understood, not considered”, said the directors in an interview with The Press, September 4. “We wanted to make people feel the emotions, the anxiety, the suicidal thoughts…”
