(Los Angeles) American gymnastics star Simone Biles and NFL Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens announced their marriage on Saturday, with photos posted on social media.
Biles, a four-time Olympic champion in Rio in 2016 and five-time all-around world champion, and Owens, who signed for the Texans in 2019, announced their engagement in February last year.
Among the photos posted by the couple, one of them shows the two athletes in front of a pastor. “Officially Owens,” Biles posted on her Instagram account, where her name is now Simone Biles Owens.
Biles won four Olympic gold medals in Rio and a bronze medal on the balance beam. She was the heavy favorite ahead of the Tokyo Olympics but withdrew from most events, for mental health and safety reasons, saying she was battling figure losses.
She still won a silver medal in the all-around team competition and a bronze medal on the beam.
