Many moms will tell you that the day they gave birth was one of the most beautiful of their lives. Which is not the case for all. Gwyneth Paltrow, for example, went through living hell just before becoming a mother for the first time, when she gave birth to her oldest child, Apple, now 17. By giving life, the actress simply almost lost hers, as she told in the podcast Armchair Expert, by Dax Shepard – Mr Kristen Bell – and Monica Padman.

In a relationship with Chris Martin at the time, Gwyneth Paltrow had to go to the hospital in fourth gear. “I had two cesarean sections, she says. For my daughter, it was an emergency, it was crazy, we both almost died. It was not good at all. And so, I have this huge scar on my body and when you see that you think to yourself, woaw, it wasn’t like that before. It’s not that it’s horrible, or that you judge your body, it’s just that you say to yourself: ‘Oh my god’ when you find out about this“.
The creator of the vagina scent candles was a guest on the podcast Armchair Expert, precisely, to evoke the harmful impact of social networks on all women in general, and more specifically those who have just had children. “Fortunately, Instagram didn’t exist when I had my babies, she rejoices. Because now you see women who gave birth two weeks ago and have completely flat stomachs, and I’m like, that’s not exactly what I looked like. And it’s great that these women have power, but it’s really something exceptional and we suffocate with the omnipresence of these images, of what we are supposed to look like all the time, with a baby or without a baby.. “
