Prime Minister François Legault hailed the career of hockey player Guy Lafleur on Friday, stressing that he has been a source of pride for Quebecers.
Mr. Legault, who convened a press conference early Friday afternoon to pay tribute to the former Montreal Canadiens player, offered his condolences to his family and loved ones.
“We all have in mind the image of the blond Demon who does what he wants on the ice, with his mane of hair in the wind, he wrote on social networks. To see a Quebecer who dominated the NHL with so much panache, to see one of ours shine with so much success, it was an immense source of pride. »
1/5 Quebec loses a giant. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. All of Quebec is thinking of you. Guy Lafleur is one of our legends. He marked an entire generation of Quebecers. He made us dream. He made us win.
