Originally, this show was to be called: Dieu, Mozart et le Tupperware de Jocelyne. But for Guy Carlier : “the audacity of this title risked disconcerting the critics, so I finally decided not to give a title to this only on stage“.
Here is how the famous columnist then presents his new unnamed show :
“At the time of my creation, God was in the middle of a household scene. This altercation was the cause of a terrible dosage error following which I found myself with a body envelope that can contain two Carlier. So God created Carl whose laughing cruelty amused the world and _Guitou_, kind and sensitive shy. Carl became popular and seized power from Carlier, so Guitou set about destroying himself to forget Carl’s triumph.
But that was before.
Before François Rollin tells me about a special day, a terrifying day, a vertiginous day which blew up my life and which makes this spectacle explode. Since that day, everything has changed. Guitou chased Carl and he decided to re-enchant the lives of future generations by sharing the intoxication of beautiful things with the public. It’s you I’m talking about in this show. From your Carls, your Guitou and when leaving the Theater, each spectator will abandon his devils to keep at the bottom of my heart only the reasons that make life worth living. Here is the title of the show. A little long perhaps, but above all now useless since you know everything“.
Guy Carlier will be on stage at Mathurins theater in Paris from January 8, 2022.
