(Toronto) The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that assistant coach Guy Boucher will not return to the team next season.
Boucher joined the Maple Leafs coaching staff last summer, supporting Sheldon Keefe during the 2023-24 campaign.
He was in his third NHL job after serving as head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2010 to 2013 and the Ottawa Senators from 2016 to 2019.
Boucher also worked in Europe with SC Berne and in the American Hockey League, managing the Montreal Canadiens’ farm club for a season. He had previously been head coach of the Drummondville Voltigeurs, in the QMJHL, for three seasons.
Keefe was fired by the Maple Leafs following the team’s elimination in the first round of the playoffs against the Boston Bruins.
Craig Berube was then hired as the new head coach of the Maple Leafs on May 17.
