Gunshots heard in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

Gunshots were heard Friday evening in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, in Montreal. This new shooting caused no injuries.

The shots rang out around 11:25 p.m., at the corner of boulevard Rosemont and rue Du Quesne, reports the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

“According to the first testimonies collected at the scene, the shots were heard [dans le secteur] and vehicles fled afterwards,” said Constable Manuel Couture, spokesperson for the police force.

Several casings were found at the scene.

No suspects have been identified at this stage of the investigation. The event caused no injuries.

A perimeter was erected on the scene to allow investigators to better understand the circumstances of this event, said agent Couture.
