An argument broke out around 7:30 p.m. between people whose number and identity are not yet known. The scene took place in the Peel station entrance, near the corner of de Maisonneuve Boulevard West and Metcalfe, in the Ville-Marie district of Montreal.

Located in the city center of the metropolis, this perimeter is buzzing, at this hour, with workers, students and passers-by who have come to shop or dine in the surrounding restaurants.

On the spot, the police did not apprehend any suspects or injuries. At least one shot was fired, according to preliminary information from agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). Police found bullet holes in the walls and a gun casing on the floor.

Peel station was closed for the evening of Monday, but should be reopened for the start of the day on Tuesday, says Véronique Comtois. A crime scene has been established. SPVM inspectors and a dog handler are on the scene to better understand the circumstances of the case.
