Several shots rang out near an alley in downtown Montreal on Sunday evening, without causing any injuries.
The shots occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Belmont and Mansfield streets, in the Ville-Marie sector. At least one casing was located in a wide alley between Central Station and a hotel parking lot.
According to our information, the projectiles were fired from a vehicle. It could be an exchange of gunfire.
The perimeter erected shortly after the event was lifted in the middle of the night. No injuries were reported in connection with this new episode of gun violence.
“The suspect or suspects would have fled the scene before the arrival of the police,” added agent Julien Lévesque, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
