The conditional discharge granted to engineer Simon Houle, guilty of sexual assault and voyeurism, was the subject of several tough questions from the judges of the Court of Appeal on Friday morning. The three judges decided to take the decision under advisement.
On June 21, 2022, the decision of judge Matthieu Poliquin, appointed in September 2021 to the criminal division of the Court of Quebec in Trois-Rivières to grant a conditional discharge to Houle had raised a wave of anger across Quebec.
