“I did not do this! I did not do this!” cried the accused, whose real name is Ugochukwu Chijoke Onyechekwa.
Judge Christian Jarry had just found him guilty of a sexual assault that occurred in 2018 in a Brossard motel.
He had met the victim on a film set. If their relationship had quickly become close, it had just as quickly gone off the rails.
So much so that the woman, whose identity is protected by a publication ban, had cut off all contact with him.

But when she learned that he had been rushed to hospital, she went to his bedside. They went to a motel a few days later.
The one who became known for his role as prison guard Koffi Yatabéré in the popular TV series Unit 9 was aggressive and angry. She was thus in a state of “panic”, crying. In response, he asked her to stop “being a baby” so that he could “fuck” her, she testified during the trial.
“You need to sit down.”
That’s when the sexual assault occurred. He asked her to lie down next to him and penetrated her despite her refusals. He even continued after she complained of pain.
To convict him for this attack, Judge Jarry took into consideration a telephone call recorded by the victim, during which she reproaches him for his heinous actions.
Confronted for nearly two minutes with serious allegations, Goûchy Boy remained silent, before apologizing. “I’ll catch up [I’m gonna make it right]“, he said.
But after being sentenced this morning at the Longueuil courthouse, the 52-year-old man did not remain in silence. It broke out in the middle of the courtroom.
“I didn’t do that,” he repeated, standing up and shouting.
“Sir, you must sit down, otherwise you will be incarcerated,” warned the magistrate, while his lawyer, Ms. Kristina Markovic, tried to calm and silence her client.
Ugochukwu Chijoke Onyechekwa was acquitted of false imprisonment and criminal harassment. He is due back in court next March for sentencing submissions.
He will have to undergo another trial for offenses of a sexual nature, concerning a complainant who was a minor at the time of the alleged acts.
