Less than a month before finding the most famous band of Gauls in the cinema. Indeed, several years after the last feature film, Asterix and his faithful sidekick, Obélix, finally return to the big screen to the delight of fans. Speaking of “big”, Guillaume Canet saw things in a huge way for his project. Starting with the casting of his film Asterix & Obelix: Middle Kingdom. If the ex of Marion Cotillard will play the character of Asterix, it is his friend Gilles Lellouche who will play him, the one who fell into the pot when he was little. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jonathan Cohen, Bigflo & Oli, or even Angèle,… all will be present on February 1 to lend him a hand.
Without forgetting Vincent Cassel who interprets not Jules, but “Jul” César, in reference to the famous Marseille rapper. A second “role” which gave itself as he revealed in an interview with Click on Canal Plus. Faced with Mouloud Achour, Monica Bellucci’s ex indeed revealed: “I’m in Julius Caesar and then we improvise a bit you see, even if the text is written and everything. Then at one point there is a take and it comes to me like that. I arrive I do that, ‘Jul Caesar ‘ what. Everybody get hairy…”
Jean Dujardin sues Guillaume Canet
However, Guillaume Canet, yet director of the film, would not have understood the meaning of the joke and would then have asked all the teams what made them laugh. “But you don’t know Jul?”he was asked, while Vincent Cassel adds: “And then, he sees that it works and he says to me ‘Okay, go ahead, we keep’. And then there it is in the film”. And there is no doubt that the director spoke about this sequence during the interview day devoted to his feature film.
A trying day that ended very late and during which he was never able to stay even ten minutes quiet. Indeed, even when he went to the toilet, Guillaume Canet had the funny surprise to discover that Jean Dujardin “followed” him even when he had an urgent desire. The actor shared a snapshot of his “moment” spent in the WC to reveal to his followers that “even in the toilet you don’t miss the trailers anymore”. In the shared snapshot, Jean Dujardin “appeared” opposite Guillaume Canet, for the film’s trailer November.
