The water tables from Brittany to New Aquitaine, but also those from Artois to the Alpine valleys, are doing well. On the other hand, those of Languedoc and Roussillon are in crisis.
Drought still lurks
In the Pyrénées-Orientales, which have not experienced a real episode of rain for two years, the situation remains difficult. Spring marks the end of recharge of tablecloths. “The plants will be used first when there is precipitation”, explains a specialist. Europe is warming faster than other continents and the issue of water is becoming crucial. At this stage, there is no certainty of escaping droughts and water restrictions during the summer.
