A long story for “Japril”, which keeps fans hoping for a spin-off series about their adventures away from Seattle. It wouldn’t be the first time that Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s Anatomywould make this kind of decision: recently the series Station 19 developed Ben’s new daily life, gone to the fire brigade. In parallel with the first seasons, she had also set up Private Practiceto follow Addison Montgomery as she moves to Los Angeles.
Addison, who also made her big comeback in season 18: Derek Shepherd’s ex-wife, played by actress Kate Walsh, quickly returned to meet Zola, Bailey and Ellis, the three children late ex-husband had had with Meredith.
The previous season had meanwhile been the scene of many returns: suffering from a serious form of Covid and falling into a coma, Meredith had been able to see Derek, the love of her life (thus marking the great return of Patrick Dempsey in the series), but also George O’Malley, who died suddenly in season 5, Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey, his little sister.
