Saturday February 10, Greta Thunberg presented herself in Saïx (Tarn) to support the opponents of the project to create the A69 motorway linking Castres to Toulouse. The Swedish activist came with other European activists to show her solidarity. “It’s madness to want to go through with this project which will waste precious resources”she lamented.
Weight support
French activists believe that the arrival of Greta Thunberg is significant support. According to them, the A69, which should reduce the travel time between Castres and Toulouse, is useless. “What is lamentable is that they did not take into account what was possible to do alongside”, regrets an opponent of the project. The government is determined to see the project through to completion, that is to say, the highway will be put into service by 2025.
