Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg was arrested by police among a group of demonstrators protesting on Tuesday against the expansion of a coal mine in western Germany, police told AFP.
“The group (of demonstrators, Ed) is in custody,” said a police spokeswoman, adding that the anti-coal activists had headed “to the edge of the mine”.
Photos released by AFP also showed the activist being evacuated by the police.
