Grenoble’s Thibaut Collet in the pole vault final

This time, Thibaut Collet did not tremble and will experience his first major international final on Saturday.

Three weeks ago during the worlds in Eugene (United States), the 23-year-old from Grenoble had stumbled during qualifying, but this Thursday he was crowned champion of France this summer managed to reach the final of the European Championships. Thibaut Collet passed on his first try 5.50 m then 5.65 m, a sufficient height to reach the final with his training teammate Renaud Lavillenie.

In the final on Saturday from 8:05 p.m., Thibaut Collet will have to approach his personal best (5.82 m), to hope for a European medal, like his father Philippe Collet in bronze in 1986 in Stuttgart.
