After a very lackluster performance last week in Bastia, the GF38 footballers showed a more conquering face against Bordeaux, freshly relegated from Ligue 1, without however managing to win.
Entered the match with a lot of desire in front of the 8,000 spectators at the Stade des Alpes, the Grenoble residents were however quickly confiscated the ball. Bordeaux controls but does not create a very clear opportunity either. Opposite Grenoble defends but struggles to destabilize a Gironde team which has not yet conceded a goal since the start of the season.
Power play for 40 minutes
The first turning point in the game came shortly after the half hour mark when referee Mikael Lesage expels the Bordeaux Mwaga after a duel with Grenoble midfielder Saikou Touray.
In numerical superiority, Grenoble holds the ball more, and approaches the goal of Gaëtan Poussin, in particular at the beginning of the second half, but at the hour of play the GF38 did not have off target the slightest shot.
Vincent Hognon then brings in three players at the same time, Manuel Perez, Jordan Tell and Amine Sbaï who, from his first ball, creates a great opportunity without managing to find the opening either.
The Grenoble residents push, but 15 minutes from the end of the match the referee pulls out a new redfor a GF38 player this time striker Pape Meissa Ba receiving a second yellow after an uncontrolled tackle in the opposing area.
At ten against ten, the end of the match is struck, with many contacts. Perfectly launched by Sbaï, Bamba Sanyang believes to deliver the Stade des Alpes in the 87th, but his goal is refused for offside by Mr. Lesage whose arbitration will have weighed heavily on this meeting finally ended with a score of 0-0.
13th in the standings, the GF38 will go next Saturday in Annecyto play his first derby of the season.
