Give back all its place to nature. This is the bet of an Irish baron, who decided to rewild the family estate, 25 km from Dublin, Ireland.

In the heart of the Irish countryside is a mansion that seems to be abandoned, surrounded by 600 hectares of fallow nature. Wild weeds, which the master of the place lets grow without worrying about appearances. He himself doesn’t really look like a baron. “We haven’t mowed the grass for ten years. It gets thicker every year, and we have more and more insects and animals.”says Lord Randal Plunkett, Baron of Dunasy (Republic of Ireland).

The lands that have always been dedicated to livestock fodder have been left completely idle for ten years. This is the concept of rewilding: nature takes back its rights and reclaims the places. A unique experience in the country, inspired by similar projects all over Europe. Here, Randal Plunkett also encourages the return of endangered species, such as black bees, almost extinct in Ireland, or owls.
