The suspect, a 38-year-old man, arrested Sunday evening in his residence in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, in the suburbs of Montreal, will face several charges.
This was announced Monday by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), in a press release. “The Tactical Intervention Group lent a hand to the police operation for securing the premises and handling the grenade,” it says.
The suspect allegedly harassed and made threats against his ex-spouse, who had left him a few weeks ago to find refuge with a loved one in Montreal.
He must appear at the Montreal courthouse to face several charges, including harassment, threats and illegal possession of firearms.
The SPVM’s North Criminal Investigation Section proceeded with the seizure.
