Arrested while on parole
One of the detainees, Sunil Gregory Singh, was on parole and had a history of drug dealing.
He received a nine-year prison sentence in 2017 for taking part in a conspiracy to import and smuggle cocaine worth $6 million to $10 million at the Lacolle border crossing in 2014.
The ex-customs officer involved in this case had also received an 11-year prison sentence for her role in the case that occurred in 2014.
In its press release concerning Wednesday’s arrest, the SPVM thanks the collaboration of the population, which provided “key information” to the investigators.
