All members of the Swedish royal family – or almost – were entitled to new official portraits. On March 29, 2022, the court fully updated its official website with new photos of the king. Carl XVI Gustav, his wife Queen Silvia and their heirs. The opportunity to discover the clan in ceremonial outfits, with tiaras and gala dresses.
The sovereign couple, their children and grandchildren first posed as a family in a salon of the royal palace: Carl Gustav and Silvia of Sweden are seated in the foreground, with their daughter and heiress Princess Victoria (in a pink dress By Malina), who holds the hand of her son Prince Oscar (6 years old). Behind, stand the husband of the latter, prince Daniel, and their eldest daughter princess Estelle (10 years old, second in the order of succession to the throne). Princess Madeleine of Sweden (in a pink Valentino pleated dress), her brother the Prince Carl Phillip and his wife the princess sofia (in a blue Stenströms dress) complete the portrait taken by photographer Linda Broström (see slideshow).
Then come the individual portraits. For the occasion, Princess Victoria brought out her H&M Conscious evening dress, which she has already worn several times at official events. On the other hand, she brought out her Napoleonic tiara with a plant motif in steel cut to reproduce the brilliance of precious stones. A jewel that belongs to the Court and that she wears only very rarely, as during the Nobel Prize ceremony in 2016 and 2010.
A few members are conspicuous by their absence
For her part, her sister Princess Madeleine brought out her flowery Ida Sjöstedt dress and her Modern Fringe Tiara in diamonds, the very one she wore for her princely wedding with Christopher O’Neill in 2013. The latter shines with elsewhere by his absence from these new official portraits… Perhaps he stayed in Miami, where they live with Madeleine and their three children: Princess Leonore (8 years old), Prince Nicolas (6 years old) and Princess Adrienne (4 years old).
Finally, Princess Sofia also bet on sure values. Prince Carl Philip’s wife brought out her Alexis embroidered dress and Palmette diamond tiara, which she usually wears for special occasions. On the other hand, the couple’s three children, Prince Alexander (soon to be 6 years old), Prince Gabriel (4 years old) and Prince Julian (1 year old), surprisingly missed this family photo shoot.
Appearing united and all smiles in these photos, the clan almost makes you forget the painful rumors of divorce that Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel suffered at the start of the year…
