The fourth edition of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie (GDPL) 1,000,000 KM Ensemble began on Friday morning, an event for everyone where Quebecers from all over the province are encouraged to get active.
On Friday and Saturday, everyone is invited to do physical activity by running, walking, pedaling or even rowing, and to count their kilometers on the 1000000ensemble.com website.

Last year, the Quebecers had exploded the objective by covering 2,776,191 km in two days. This event, first created during the pandemic to encourage the population to move, is being held this year at the same time as the 1000 km by bike.
Moreover, the cyclists started the second day of their tour in the morning. Around 8:30 a.m., the cycling enthusiasts left Lac-Beauport, heading for Quebec City.
After 60 km, the 222 teams will make a first stop at Cégep de Lévis. The rest will be important, since one of the longest stages of the tour will follow in the afternoon. Following the St. Lawrence River for more than 112 km, they will go as far as Montmagny.
Two cyclists per team will then do an 88.8 km loop to return to their starting point. Around 7:20 p.m., they will mount their mounts for the last leg of this long day, which will take them to Laval University via Route 132, with an expected arrival time before 11 p.m.
Remember that the convoy will end its crazy race in Varennes, in Montérégie, on Sunday around 2:35 p.m.
