(Ottawa) The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General in Ottawa confirmed Thursday an intrusion into its internal computer network.
In a statement, the Bureau said it is working with the Canadian Center for Cyber Security “as part of the ongoing investigation” to determine the nature and extent of the intrusion.
The Bureau also indicates that it is working with experts “and will take other measures to strengthen its network if necessary”.
The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General says it “immediately took steps to strengthen its network” when it discovered the intrusion.
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner has also been informed of unauthorized access to its internal network.
The Bureau ensures that the protection of the personal information of its employees and “all persons who have dealings” with it is a priority.
