Emmanuel Macron gathered his ministers for a first council after the holidays marking the political return of the government. The Head of State, who spoke publicly, issued several calls to order. The journalist Catherine Demangeat was on site for 12/13.

“Great Upheaval”, “the end of what could appear as an abundance”. The words chosen by Emmanuel Macron in front of his ministers and in the presence of the press are heavy and the smiles of the arrival on the steps quickly dissipated. In a context of war on the European continent and high inflation, the President of the Republic has launched a new appeal to the French to make an effort. “I think it’s very inappropriate”reacted Philippe Martinez, secretary general of the CGT.

On the spot, the journalist of France Televisions, Catherine Demangeat, underlines that Emmanuel Macron “sent a stern call to order to his ministers. The president seemed annoyed by the controversies that punctuated the summer and called for “more seriousness, more credibility and more collegiality”reveals the journalist. “The Head of State asked his ministers not to say anything and everything, not to engage in demagoguery”she adds, concluding that the Head of State has regained control, “in the mode of firmness”.
