Celebrations in the vineyards

To celebrate its 25e anniversary, the Vignoble Rivière du Chêne, established in Saint-Eustache, in the Lower Laurentians, has designed a special program for the summer. In addition to its usual tastings and its dynamic bistro with a view, the estate will notably offer, starting in July, festive weekends with music groups, yoga aperitif evenings and picnic packages to devour at the foot of the vines. A gourmet dinner hosted by winemaker-owner Daniel Lalande, during which he will unveil his special cuvée of the 25e anniversary, Origin, will also take place on June 30. A great idea for an outing less than half an hour from Montreal.

beezz wineries

There are some great things happening in Ferme-Neuve, in the Hautes-Laurentides. There are succulent Miels from Anicet Desrochers, Mélia body care from his wife, Anne-Virginie Schmidt, as well as their bistronomic canteen Pollens & Nectars. But Anicet also supplies his sister Naline and his brother-in-law Géraud Bonnet with the honey which they transform into high quality dry, semi-dry, syrupy or sparkling meads. And precisely, the Beezz range of Desrochers D., honey wines funky beading or sparkling, has just been enriched with cuvées combining the signature of a seasonal honey with an emblematic grape variety of three winegrower friends… But not just any! The Domaine du Nival, the Les Pervenches vineyard and Pinard & Filles have effectively contributed to the birth of these limited edition sparkling honey wines on grape marc. Hurry before there are none left!

Beach apple cocktail

Another prolific family, this time from Rougemont, in Montérégie, the Jodoins are also innovating. David, Philippe and Jean-Philippe, the fifth generation of the Michel Jodoin cider house (and microdistillery), are launching a very first product inspired by a well-known 1980s cocktail: Pomme on the beach. Presented in retro-looking cans, this light drink (7% alcohol) made from rosé cider, mandarin concentrate and zest, lemon zest and peach syrup has a fruity and refreshing taste. A perfect cocktail for the summer that is just beginning, just like the sparkling ciders, in classic or rosé versions, from the same house, which are offered in colored bottles.
