Tasty news not to be missed.
New table for romantic evenings
Food lovers can rejoice at the opening this week of a new restaurant bringing together four chefs, two of whom are among the greatest in Quebec: Daniel Vézina and Antonin Mousseau-Rivard! In the heart of Espace St-Denis, in Montreal, Molière par Mousso offers to transport us directly to a French brasserie. Fish soup with its rouille, egg mayonnaise and celery remoulade, lobster thermidor, beef Rossini, gratin dauphinois, profiteroles or crêpes Suzette… the French classics are on the menu and should delight lovers wishing for a happy one-on-one , just like the one for people who want a good bite to eat before or after a show at the St-Denis theatre. Note that this major project is made possible thanks to Jean Pilote, the man behind the revival of the Capitole de Québec. It promises !
Cookies to say “I love you”
Valentine’s Day is a good excuse to pay attention to those — lovers, parents, children, friends and colleagues — whom we love. So yes, of course, we can think of flowers and chocolates, but why not set our sights on original cookies? This is what B. lovd offers, a Quebec social enterprise that combines cookies, self-love and support for organizations. Its fresh and generous cookies, made with natural ingredients, have a special feature: they all contain a message, which you discover by pulling on a small tab that protrudes from the cookie. “You are perfection itself” and “Thank you for being you. Seriously” are examples of these little words that warm our hearts, while cookies satisfy our gluttony. A nice initiative.
liquid love
It’s not a love potion, but an elegant bottle of wine with a rose-shaped base that we suggest to you this week. The Côte des Roses cuvée is a rosé wine from Languedoc that has benefited from the Mediterranean climate and the coolness of the heights. It was created by winemaker Gérard Bertrand, known for his biodynamic approach in the south of France. Orange in color, this fresh, gourmet wine with good persistence offers aromas of red fruits, blackcurrant and currant, as well as floral notes of rose and citrus notes such as grapefruit. It can be served lightly at room temperature as an aperitif, or with shellfish or lightly spiced dishes.
