Cheese stop
Being active in the Eastern Townships is as pleasant in winter as in summer. There are indeed beautiful ski resorts, hiking trails for snowshoeing, tube sliding… and delicious places to take a gourmet break! Cheese lovers will be particularly delighted to learn that La Station farm cheese dairy, whose creations such as Alfred le Fermier and Chemin Hatley regularly win Caseus awards, recently inaugurated its economuseum. Visitors are therefore now invited to discover the permanent exhibition, Musée de la fromagerie fermière, to find out more about the cheese-making process, in addition to a mezzanine for observing the maturing rooms and a immersive multisensory experience.
Terrace break
Having a drink on a terrace in the summer is really pleasant, but you can also live this experience in the middle of winter in several ways. In Montreal, just opt for the superb glass-ceilinged interior terraces of the Japanese restaurant Jatoba, or for the Mediterranean concept of the Bazart restaurant. Real invitations to travel, especially when it’s cold outside. As for Quebec, why not set up shop in the winter garden of Le Sacrilège bar, or occupy the new intimate terrace of Terroir, open from Thursday to Sunday? Until April, comfortably seated on a deck chair, a hat on your head and a warm blanket on your knees, you can enjoy, around a brazier, mulled wine or a Quebec-style alcoholic coffee with whiskey at maple and whipped cream.

After-ski wines
The time-honoured expression “After the effort, the comfort” is in order to fully savor the Quebec winter. So, to decompress and warm up your taste buds, the Alsatian region, in France, offers perfect wines for the cold season. As a gourmet trophy at the top of a snowy mountain that you have just climbed, or to share with friends as an aperitif at the chalet, Wolfberger rosé Crémant d’Alsace is very attractive with its fine effervescence, its pretty pink dress as well as its ample and fruity mouth. Also note to fans of raclette: the Riesling from the André Kientzler family estate, with mineral and floral notes and a beautiful persistence, will be the ideal companion for this emblematic winter dish.
