In Switzerland, the Gotthard Tunnel reopened on Monday, September 2. Last August, a freight train derailed in the tunnel. Since then, huge works have been necessary to repair the tracks. This tunnel is an essential axis in traffic between the north and the south of the country for passengers and especially freight. This news is all the more encouraging since the Mont Blanc tunnel will close for at least 15 weeks, due to works.
In Spain, nearly 11 million foreigners spent their July holidays in the country. Since the beginning of the year, 53 million tourists have been counted.
