This Monday, January 8, 2024, Bruce Toussaint took his first steps on TF1 with a brand new show. The famous journalist is in fact at the helm of Good morning, a morning news now broadcast from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the first channel. Surrounded by a team of columnists, the former face of BFMTV returns to the news but also promises to offer viewers an update on the weather and the intervention of a distinguished guest every day from Monday to Friday.
If the first issue attracted 512,000 curious people, thus competing with France 2’s flagship show, Télématin, the second issue broadcast this Tuesday, January 9, 2024 only had 292,000 viewers. A free fall which benefits the rivals since 749,000 viewers were gathered at the same time on France 2.
Cyril Hanouna makes fun of Bruce Toussaint live
Always very teasing, Cyril Hanouna was quick to comment on this drop in audience in his show Do not touch My TV this Wednesday, January 10, 2024. A sketch showing Bruce Toussaint and his columnists acting in “reverse” has indeed been broadcast. The host then joked by declaring that the morning show would end up being called “Bye” and no more “Good morning” if audiences continue to drop like this.
Enough to annoy viewers who were quick to reframe Cyril Hanouna in comments to the publication. “You are disgusting TPMP for making fun, you forget that you are also losing spectators today 1.6 million daily 2.36 million”, “I’m wrong but I believe that the morning show had more audiences at 7:30 a.m. than your bonus on bedbugs…”, “Hanouna would do better to watch these audiences instead of criticizing TF1. Quotidien gives you a beating in the audience every evening”,”You are heavy to criticize everything TF1 I find this morning show very nice, it’s a change from the other morning shows the decor is nice too…” can we read for example.
