“This is good news for the advancement of rights” des femmes, reacted Tuesday, September 20 on franceinfo Caroline Rebhi, co-president of Family Planning, while the Minister of Health, François Braun, announced that access to emergency contraception, or the morning after pill, will become free for all women regardless of age, in pharmacies and without a prescription. The announcement was not “not expected”emphasizes Caroline Rebhi who still keeps a “question” on the application of the announced measure.
“There are still brakes”, according to Family Planning. Caroline Rebhi emphasizes “anonymity” desired by women in pharmacy. “We will have to see whether or not there is a need to still pass a vital card for older women.” She points “the judgments of pharmacists who did not want to deliver” the morning after pill “more than two or three times to women, because there are always misconceptions about the effects of this emergency contraception which is not well known”.
