France Bleu Provence is a partner of “Gondwana, the Festival of Mediterranean Plants” at Domaine du Rayol on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October 2022.
To celebrate the arrival of autumn, the Domaine du Rayol is organising, on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October 2022, GONDWANA, the Festival of Mediterranean Plants.
Many nursery exhibitors
This event has become over the years an unmissable event for all garden lovers, both for the quality of the nurseries and exhibitors present and for the cultural and festive program renewed each year.
The heart of the event is of course the sale of plants. Nursery collectors will offer their finest specimens: Mediterranean shrubs and perennials, cacti and succulents, aromatic plants, tropical plants, palm trees, acacias, fruit trees, etc.
California in the spotlight
For this 18th edition, Gondwana is honoring one of the Mediterranean landscapes evoked at the Domaine du Rayol, California!
The opportunity for the artist Célia Pernot to present her photographic story “Ecomorphosis, California 2014-2020”, in which she explores the consequences of climate change, the battles around the rehabilitation of polluted sites, and the antagonism irremediable between nature conservation and economic development on the California coast. An exhibition to discover at the Domaine du Rayol from October 1 to November 27, 2022.
Conferences, exhibition, film, entertainment for young and old
Around these themes, will be proposed conferencesin particular with Célia Pernot, artist photographer, Gérard Weiner, producer and researcher of plants adapted to dry land, specialist in the acclimatization of Californian plants, as well asa round table moderated by Jean-Laurent Felizia, “Evolution, climate and economy: what convergences for tomorrow?” Perspectives on California » which will bring together Gilles Clément, creator of the Jardin des Méditerranées, Monica Fossati, polytechnic engineer specializing in sustainable development, and Célia Pernot.
Also note, screening of a documentary unusual and quirky road movie “Varlifornia Dreamin'”in search of California in the Var with members of the groups LuneApache and Hal Manhar.
The talks under the eucalyptus will allow discussion with many speakers throughout the weekend. A guided tour of the Garden will be offered on the theme of fire in Californiawhile La Librairie des Jardiniers will offer a selection of Californian literature.
Also on the program: entertainment for young and old such as “Climp in the trees”, the ecological carousel “La Belle Roue”, a workshop around the wool of the Massif des Maures, music with the MadSound orchestra, stands of local artisans and producers, friendly gardens and associations working to preserve the environment.
