The Golf Québec / FAEQ scholarship program, established in 2014, stems from the desire of the two organizations to help financially and better supervise young golfers, while making them aware of the pursuit and success of studies at the same time. of their sports career.
“Since its inception, the program has proven itself. The objective was to offer young golfers the opportunity to train in a more comprehensive way, using the same tools as athletes from other sports, while benefiting from quality academic supervision. The excellent results of Quebecers on the national and even international scene in recent years clearly demonstrate that this vision was the right one, ”said Patricia Demers, Executive Director of the Foundation for Athletic Excellence, in a press release. .
This year’s individual scholarship recipients are Morgan Best, Alexandra Botsis, Félix Bouchard, Charlotte Boudreau, Mathieu Chouinard, Henry Dao, Malik Dao, Isabella Ferguson, Justin Grimard, Alicia Hénault, Antonia Ho, Geneviève Jobin-Colgan, Ashley Lafontaine, Mathieu Lafontaine, Anne-Léa Lavoie, Émile Lebrun, Daniel-Ange Morency, James Newton, Zack Pageau, Guillaume Paquette, Jean-Philippe Parr, Charly Pinel, Madeleine Pytura and Yasmine Qureshi.
The FAEQ and Golf Québec took advantage of this virtual discount to reiterate their commitments to encourage, supervise and financially support 15 of the most promising young people who are back in the scholarship program. They also welcomed into their extended family 11 new and new recipients that they will support as they pursue their academic career and into their next season.

The mentoring and support to scholarship recipients over the first seven years has seen many young golfers grow impressively both personally and academically and reach promising levels in competition. “This finding is very motivating for the new scholarship holders we welcome to the program this year. They can claim to achieve high levels of performance, even on the international scene. Six donors got involved in the program this year: Claude Chagnon, Fednav, F. Furst Entreprises LTD, Fondation Roland-Beaulieu, Peacock Family Foundation and Groupe Park Avenue. A portion of the profits from the 2021 Bonneville 808 Challenge was also used to finance the Golf Québec / FAEQ scholarship program.
