Golden Globes 2022: Marion Cotillard, Omar Sy … Many French people in the running

They were able to seduce France and export themselves, and put Hollywood at their feet. They are several French actors and actresses to be nominated for the 79th Golden Globes ceremony, which will take place on January 9. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) revealed its list of nominations on December 13. In terms of actors, but also productions, there are some Made In France nuggets that will represent France during this prestigious evening.

Among the leading figures of French cinema, we find across the Atlantic: Tahar Rahim, nominated in the category Best actor in a TV movie or mini-series for The snake ; Omar Sy in the Best Role in a Drama Series category for the Netflix series Lupine ; Marion Cotillard, in the category Best actress in a comedy or musical film for Annette ; Denis Villeneuve in the category Best director for the film Dune with Zendaya and the young Franco-American actor Timothée Chalamet.

In the Best Soundtrack category, we also find another French, the composer Alexandre Desplat, for the soundtrack of The French Dispatch. Wes Anderson’s new feature film features various French actors such as Hippolyte Girardot, Lyna Khoudri, Léa Seydoux, Mathieu Amalric, not to mention the director’s favorite actors, namely Bill Muray, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody and Owen Wilson.
