London, Ontario-born Ryan Gosling is nominated for his supporting actor role as Ken in the summer hit barbieand Martin Short, of Hamiltonis up for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Television Series for his character as a crime documentary podcast host in the series Only Murders in the Building.
M’s first feature filmme song, Past Livesis selected in five categories, including best dramatic film, best director and best screenplay.

The Korean-Canadian filmmaker’s relationship drama is partly based on M’s own lifeme Song and tells the story of two childhood sweethearts who reflect on the nature of their relationship after living separate lives for 24 years.
All the Light We Cannot Seedirected by Montrealer Shawn Levy, is also nominated in the category of best miniseries, anthology or TV film.
Meanwhile, Toronto musician Robbie Robertson, who died aged 80 last year, is nominated for best original score for his work on Killers of the Flower Moon.
Hosted by comedian Jo Koy, the 81e The Golden Globe ceremony is the first major broadcast of the awards season and will air on CBS and Citytv in Canada at 8 p.m. Eastern.
The Golden Globes are attempting to make a comeback after its former broadcast partner NBC pulled out of the 2022 show amid controversy over a lack of diversity among nominees and on its own jury. Industry pressure led to the dissolution of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last summer.
