Young female doctors tortured and killed in Iran for treating protesters. Soldiers armed to the teeth in Afghanistan to prevent other young women from going to university. What other atrocities, what other injustices are done, every day, in all the Islamist republics, by these bearded fundamentalists who are, ultimately, afraid of women? We are not just talking here about coercive policies, closed doors or the loss of rights, but about the murders, massacres and tortures of citizens of a civil society which, in these countries, can hardly breathe the perfume of any progress.
How can one claim, in these republics, to be religious believers in a supposedly good god and creator of the world? How not to see in it the dominance of men who are profoundly ignorant and totally petrified in their religious delirium?
But religious of what, exactly? Believing in what, tell me, after seeing what they are capable of doing to their fellow human beings, especially to women? I opt, as for me, for the second entity of the title.
