(Toronto) The Toronto Maple Leafs signed goaltender Keith Petruzzelli to a two-year entry-level contract on Sunday.

The 23-year-old goaltender was 6-0-0 with a .922 save percentage this season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
Petruzzelli will give the Maple Leafs depth in net as several Toronto goaltenders have struggled with injury since the start of the season.
Starter Ilya Samsonov did not play in the third period of a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday. The Russian, who was replaced by Erik Kallgren, is injured in the knee.
Samsonov will not be in uniform for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Maple Leafs are already without Matt Murray (groin and adductors) and prospect Joseph Woll (shoulder).
Petruzzelli, who is six feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, was a third-round selection by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2017 draft.
