Go on a hike to observe the birds at rest.

By taking your time and stopping at the observation site, the tour of the pond is done in 2 hours. The pond which gives birth to the Vilaine river has a shallow depth and it bathes a succession of natural environments, a sheet of water colonized by floating vegetation such as water lilies, waterside vegetation, a remarkable reed bed very rare in Mayenne which extends over 200m at the end of the pond near a willow grove. You will still find residual woods, acid bog, heathland and wet meadow.

Wherever you live, the Mayenne having a large network of rivers and streams, you will certainly find a pond which allows birds to winter. The Haute-Mayenne lake, the Launay-Villiers site, the Selle-Craonnaise lake, the tourist and leisure site of Villaines-la-Juhel are accompanied by hiking trails. And the long ribbon of the Mayenne is accessible everywhere with the tow!
