“As certain streets will be closed to automobile traffic and prohibited from parking for a few hours, traveling by car may require a little more planning than usual,” warns Vélo Québec spokesperson, Stéphanie Couillard, in a press release. .

The starting gun for the Tour la Nuit will be given at 8 p.m. on Friday. Cyclists will take the streets of Plateau Mont-Royal, Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie and Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Ville-Marie during a 22 km route.

For its part, the Tour de l’Île de Montréal will begin Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Cyclists will take the streets of Plateau Mont-Royal, Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie, Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges–Notre -Dame-de-Grâce, Sud-Ouest, Verdun, Ville-Marie and the City of Westmount for a 36 km course.

Vélo Québec recommends that the population use the Waze application, in order to “opt for the best routes and avoid streets closed to automobile traffic”.

Throughout the two events, volunteers, cadets and police officers will be present at the intersections of the blocked streets to direct motorists. They will be able to give, to those who wish, a plan of the route of the events and the bypass routes.
