Oyonnax now knows what awaits it in the Challenge Cup next year, following the draw made on Wednesday 21 June. Promoted to the top 14 and while he will have to fight for his maintenance, the Rhone club will notably find the Sharks of Durban, quarter-finalists of the Champions Cup last year. Alongside them in pool 1, Section Paloise will be accompanied by the Zebra from Parma, the Newport Dragons and a final yet unknown guest team. As a reminder, teams from the same championship cannot compete in pools (therefore no match between Pau and Oyonnax at this stage).

Clermont with Gloucester

The last team to have really shaken Stade Rochelais in the Champions Cup, Gloucester will find two French clubs in their pool (pool 3), Clermont and Castres. It is completed by the Scarlets of Llanelli, Edinburgh and another guest team.

For Montpellier and Usap, in pool 2, the course in this competition will pass through Benetton in Italy, the Lions of Johannesburg, Newcastle and the Ospreys in Wales. The order of the matches and the places (two matches played away, two at home) will be known later. The group stage will run from December 8 to January 21, over four weekends. The final will take place on May 24 at Tottenham Stadium in London.
