(London) Global markets slid Friday morning, the day after further losses on Wall Street.

At the start of the session in Europe, London fell by 0.9%, Paris by 1.2% and Frankfurt by 1.4%.
In New York, before markets opened, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the broader S&Px500 Index were flat.
In Asia, Tokyo and Shanghai lost 0.9%. Hong Kong added 0.1%. The Seoul stock market plunged by 1.1% and that of Sydney by 2.3%.
On the New York Commodities Exchange, oil prices fell US$1.66 to US$83.89 a barrel.
