The current global computer outage is having consequences here, particularly at Montreal-Trudeau airport, where numerous flight delays and cancellations are expected.
In a message posted on its X account, the airport administration explained that “a global computer outage is causing technical issues for some air carriers. Flight delays and cancellations are possible.”

Travelers are also advised to contact their airline directly to find out the status of their flight.
In an email sent to La Presse, Émilie Chevrette, spokesperson for Aéroports de Montréal, specified that U.S. border services were disrupted by the outage, so that passengers with flights to American destinations could not be processed.
“Fortunately, the problem has been resolved and passenger processing is gradually resuming, but obviously, delays are to be expected at this level, necessarily causing flight delays this morning,” she explains.
Mme Chevrette adds that American Airlines, Delta and United have also been affected, but their operations are also gradually resuming. On the Canadian side, Porter has decided to cancel all its flights until noon.
The outage was caused by an update to CrowdStrike’s antivirus and primarily affected Windows systems. Several other airports around the world were disrupted as a result. Security operations surrounding the Paris Olympics were also affected.
