(Paris) Singer Nana Mouskouri, who is celebrating her 60-year career, will auction off several pairs of her famous rectangular glasses, 200 stage dresses and as many fashion accessories on June 19 in Paris, for the benefit of the Fondation of the Hospitals of France, she announced to AFP on Wednesday.
“Time passes. I always had the project to do something with my stage outfits which are a little asleep in my wardrobes. I met Brigitte Macron (Editor’s note, president of the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France) and I offered to sell them for a good cause, ”explained Nana Mouskouri, 88.
“These dresses have accompanied me in important moments of my life as a singer, all over the world. With them, I experienced great emotions with the public, ”added the singer, who has just published pleasures of lovean integral of the 440 titles recorded since 1963.
Among the stage outfits in the catalog for this charity sale, a dress by designer Per Spook for Louis Féraud in the 1970s, a sheath dress with pagoda sleeves by Jean Paul Gaultier and a long embroidered chiffon dress by costume designer Mine Vergès .
“Per Spook designed my first dresses, gave me a style that quickly became mine. Jean Paul Gaultier came to me with his imagination and drew me a dozen dresses,” said Nana Mouskouri.
Shoes, hats and belts will also be auctioned. The 400 lots will be exhibited at the Galerie Sabine Bayasli, in Paris, from Wednesday 14 June.
