Give to your neighbor | A Rain of Band-Aid

On the eve of this new year, which is just as uncertain as the previous one, we have a duty to watch over each other more than ever. This other could be a relative, a neighbor, a stranger. But if we can, we owe it to ourselves to bring kindness and hope like never before.

For some, the end of the year marks the time for assessments, for others, taking stock and wishes for 2022 is a utopia. So, don’t we have the obligation to combine our efforts, our resources and our means to bring a little balm to the lives of the most vulnerable people?

Community and charitable organizations across the province are at their wit’s end. Pressure and demand are constantly increasing and resources do not necessarily keep pace. The holiday season has always been critical, but never at this point. Never. So what to do?

To give.

Donate time, money and even knowledge to organizations that need it. And they are numerous and close to you. Yes, there are the foodstuffs, but there is also the money and the voluntary work that can be done to ensure a transmission belt between resources and needs. We can be a strong link in the chain.

Because if for many the idea of a restricted Christmas is scary, for others, isolation is experienced on a daily basis, pandemic or not.

So, collectively, we can make a great effort in the few remaining days of 2021 to give.

Again, give.

Yes, it might have the effect of a Band-Aid on a bleeding that is very early to be controlled, but it will still be better than doing nothing at all. If we can at least allow all families to have a minimum of happiness and pride at this time, it’s worth the effort, right?

So let’s create a rain of Band-Aid!

Let’s add $ 1 to our bill at the cash register, leave some food in the boxes provided in businesses and organizations, donate blood to keep our reserves afloat, let’s lend a hand and give as generously as we can.

The 31st of December.

This is the last day of the year to give, if you look at it with a fiscal eye. And it’s not bad to do it. A charitable donation will allow you to reduce some of your taxes. Do your math and see how much good you can do.

Because it is together, by a rain of Band-Aid that we will pass through the Holidays. We will see how to cure the bleeding in 2022, but until then, let’s not get behind the idea that our donation is just a drop of rain in the ocean. This drop, paired with others, may it become a storm of love, of benevolence towards others and also towards oneself.

Because despite everything we can think of, we are never safe from needing a little help one day or another.
