Italy and Denmark celebrate. Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo) won in Grenoble, Sunday June 11, at the end of the 8th and last stage of this Dauphiné 2023. A time dropped by Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal Quick-Step) at the head of the race, the Transalpin returned alongside Tiesj Benoot (Jumbo-Visma) before isolating himself in the lead and holding on, despite Jonas Vingegaard chasing him on the slopes at 14% ascent of La Bastille, the justice of the peace of the day.

The day after his solo victory at the top of the Col de la Croix de Fer, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard wins the general classification in style by crushing the competition. He is ahead of Adam Yates (2’21”) and Ben O’Connor (2’50”) in the general classification. The Briton from UAE-Emirates tried to slip away from the yellow jersey in the Col de Porte about twenty kilometers from the finish. Without success since he then struggled to follow him in the last hectometres of the week.
