Girondin restaurants in Instagram’s game

Instagram is 1.2 billion active users worldwide, it is also the favorite network of the famous. This generation of thirty-somethings who spend more money on experiences than on material possessions. They are 69% to photograph their meal in the restaurant. Worse still, 30% admit to choosing an address based on its presence on the network.

Yannick Revel: In Bordeaux, we have a few addresses that have understood this game well, and have therefore been calibrated accordingly. I am thinking in particular of the very Instagrammable Big Mamma, Monzu or Ganache. How do you get to the latter without posting a photo of the gorilla sitting by the stairs?

And if you forget the smartphone on release day, your loved ones may ask you why you haven’t published the photos of the dishes. However, beautiful on the plate and in the photo, does not necessarily mean good on the palate. Between appearing and being there are some portions, some subtleties of work for the professional. Never mind, among Chefs, the Instagram showcase is interesting, to use the same media as restaurant customers. Today, more than 70% of French chefs have an Instagram account. From street food to starred tables, no one escapes the wave. The social network allows them to get closer to their customers, but also to keep watch to see how their colleagues and/or competitors are working. But it must also be admitted, Instagram has also considerably transformed the way they work. Created in October 2010, the image sharing platform has established itself. Since its advent, we don’t travel, we don’t consume, we don’t eat in the same way. Without a doubt, the world of food is one of those that has been most upset by the tidal wave.
