Girondin Antoine Brizard wins the League of Nations with the French volleyball team

A new triumph, while perhaps waiting for the next one. A year after winning the Olympic Games in Tokyo, and one month away from the world championships (August 26 – September 11), the French volleyball team has added another gold medal to its collection. The Blues won the Nations League on Sunday, thanks to their success in the final against the United States, 3 sets to 2 (25-16, 25-19, 15-25, 21-25, 15-10); in Bologna, Italy.

A competition in which the Girondin Antoine Brizard particularly shone. The Blues passer was excellent at making his teammates shine, but also very effective in service, with three aces scored against the Americans. A confirmation for the one who was voted the best player in the world in 2022. Based in La Brède, he had received the medal from the city after the Olympic title won last year in Tokyo

The Blues are full of confidence after their missed Euro in September last year. Trained since the end of March by former Italian international Andrea Giani, will now aim for the world title, the only one they lack, in a month in Poland and Slovenia.
