Giorgia Meloni should take the lead of Italy after the victory of his party in the legislative elections. She says she wants to unite her people.

Georgia Meloni is Italy’s new strong woman. With her, the Brothers of Italy came first, Sunday, September 25, with 26% of the vote. In her first speech, Giorgia Meloni wanted to be reassuring: We will be called upon to govern this nation, and we will do so for all. (…) We will do this with the objective of uniting our people.” If the left-wing press is alarmed by his coming to power, the right-wing press is delighted.

The results are much more divided. With 30% abstention, this election did not raise the crowds. “At least there will be a change. Whether positive or negative, we must respect democracy and the popular vote”, explains an Italian. One voter is positive: “If that’s the candidate we’ve been dealing with for the past few months, you should be fine.” During her campaign, Giorgia Meloni softened her speech. However, its enemies are clearly identified: Islam, migrants, abortion and sexual minorities.
